Valley of the kings, and sight of my most unpleasant tourist encounter of the trip. In one of the tombs of the valley, one of the passages between rooms narrowed to single file. The result was a long line, and long wait in the 50 or so degree heat and 100% humidity in the tomb. A french lady felt she had the right to jump to the front of the line. When someone pointed out that there was line, she dismissed them with a curt "It's too long a wait". It made my day when I finally got to the next room and she had taken out her camera (forbidden due to the damage the flash can do to the painted walls). I was definitely happy to see her have to bribe security to get her camera back after I had started pointing and yelling "She's taking a picture! She's taking a picture! The woman who butted in line is taking a picture". It also meant that I knew security was busy, and I could take a picture of my own.
The rest of the pictures are of travel between cities and of Hurghada, our first stop on the Red Sea. We had the pleasure of seeing possibly the worst belly dancer ever, and the joy of being pulled up on stage with her. I've never seen anyone as terified as Susan when the dancer started shaking her breasts at her. I was scared for her. The second scariest thing I've been subjected to was the cab ride back to the hotel. 175 km/h on the main road, slowing down to 120 km/h once we were on the side streets with speed bumps. Fittingly, the cab ride ended in an argument when the driver tried to double the agreed upon price. Luckily I was kind of drunk...off coke and beer. A miscommunication at the belly dancing club lead to the weirdest mixed drink I've had in a while.
