Central America

I didn't take very many pictures of El Salvador. It was one of the most interesting places I've ever been but not a place I was quick to get my camera out. The crime rate is pretty ridiculous. We stayed in a relatively decent area in San Salvador, but still heard gun shots every night we were there. I later read that one out of every 1000 or 1500 people in the country are murdered every year. All of that aside the markets of San Salvador are the most interesting I've ever been in, they literally go on for miles. I wonder if my $6 Lacoste shirt is real? In about a 20 minute walk you go from these amazing markets selling everything imaginable, to the wealthier area that could pass for a chunk of america with fast food, and giant air conditioned malls. I did manage to get few pictures that capture a little bit of the feel of San Salvador, but not much. If you look closely at the last picture in the top row, you'll see one of the most daring street crossings I have ever witnessed. And susan got pooped on by a bird.
