This is the start of our trip through Costa Rica the week before the wedding. The first night was Susan's birthday so we splurged and stayed in a nice lodge adjacent to Poas national park (see volcano below). It was one of the nicest places I've ever stayed, a hot tub in the bathroom and on the balcony, a fireplace, canopy bed, etc. A very romantic place to spend a night with your soon to be wife...and her son. Our second day there we got a flat on the rental car, and within an hour had someone wave us down to say another tire looked like it might fall off. It never did though. A few pictures of waterfalls before the novelty wore off. I think if you randomly dropped a sign reading "scenic waterfall" in Costa Rica, more often than not it would be right. There is some sort of Escher-esque trait to the country that every single spot is at a lower altitude than any other spot, allowing for an impossible number of water falls. The third to last picture made me laugh, just because they didn't even bother to clear away the wreckage of the last collapsed bridge before erecting a new one.
