Cuba

The giant Che memorial in Havana. You wouldn't believe how many asshole tourists buy and wear Che clothing during their visits...the ones with the berets enrage me the most. One day I saw a fat old lady get off the bus from the airport, drop her bags with her husband, head for the gift shop and was wearing a giant oversized Che beach t-shirt before they'd even checked in. That's why he fought in the revolution, so foreigners could come to cuba slap his picture on themselves in some cheap tacky fashion and treat the locals like shit. I think I might vomit...or go to some university residence and punch a spoiled kid in the head for using mom and dad's money to buy a Che poster.

The picture of ashphalt is the hallowed revolutionary square. I'm still not sure why it's so important. It might as well be a wal-mart parking lot, except here the white trash park OUTSIDE the lot and take more pictures.

Some giant cemetary in the middle of Havana, with a surprising amount of open graves. The broken open baby coffin is especially disturbing.

The "US Interests Section" building in havana is surrounded by anti-american billboards (I think partly to amuse canadian tourists), as well as the Anti Imperialist concert theatre. Apparently children performing skits and dance routines bothers the american diplomats (I guess I'm not the only one who hates children). My favorite billboard is the one with swastikas and pictures of americans torturing iraqis.

The last row is pretty random. The night ones are of the pool at the copa cabana (I think "the" it might just be "a"), during a storm the ocean was sweeping right into the pool. The scale model is of a hotel with a bar at the top that Susan vaguely remembered having a nice view of the city. Navigating by her great sense of direction and memory we finally found it after trying about six different hotels (and eight beers each) throughout the city. As it turns out I couldn't even get in once we found it (dress code) and had to settle for the scale model in the lobby.
